A Walk In The Park
Today I took a walk in the park, It wasn’t even close to being dark, Nary a creature stirred, moved or barked, Very relaxed but very stark. The light was sharp, it cut like a knife, Black and white a lot like life.
People were calm enjoying the peace, When along I came and began to ease, Into the groove that’s where I breeze, I’m elevated with lots of tease. When I’m feeling life and feeling fine, Blending in I begin to shine. Some people ignored me, some people gawked, They all were quiet and didn’t talk, I walked by, I didn’t balk. I slid right through with my gun held low, And shot them all and wouldn’t you know that off I went without a woe. One head was floating and others shook, Some wore shirts too small or striped like a crook, And one had his head stuck in a book (how weird). Eight benches in all with wooden slats, On metal legs they all sat. The day was nice and the pavement flat.
Some didn’t look and just slept away, Whilst some sat straight with looks astray. Some poised and pretty, looking nice, But some should be eating a lot less rice, With looks of stone and cold as ice.
So there’s my walk right through the park, Days like these they light a spark, Way down inside it makes a mark. Deep in my soul you become a part, You ingrain yourselves and it gives me heart!
